Do British citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes, it’s mandatory to get a Vietnam visa for UK nationals. Since it’s possible to apply online, you won’t need to go to the Vietnamese Embassy in person.

You can apply for two types of online visas: 

  • Single entry. You can only enter and leave the country once, and it allows you to stay in Vietnam for 30 days.
  • Multiple entries. It allows you to enter and exit Vietnam as many times as you like, but each entry can last a maximum of 90 days.

Vietnam Visa requirements for British citizens​

The requirements to apply for the Vietnam visa from UK are:

  • A passport, which must have 6 months of validity remaining (or more) after traveling. Make sure it’s undamaged and that it has at least 2 blank pages for stamps. 
  • A scanned copy of the biodata page of the applicant’s passport.

  • A bank card to pay for the fees.
  • A current email address to receive the approved document.

How to get a Vietnam travel visa from UK​

British citizens are eligible to apply online for both Vietnamese visas. You’ll only need to follow 3 easy steps, it will only take a couple of minutes. You have to:

  • Select one of the two visas
  • Complete the application form
  • Pay the fees with your bank card

Once your payment has gone through, all that’s left to do is wait. You can expect the approved document in your email within a week (approximately).
